Can fat freezing be used near a hernia or an abdominal surgical scar?
FDA guidance says it should not be performed in or near a pre-existing hernia or a structurally weak abdominal area, including surgical scars or separated abdominal muscles after pregnancy. Not automatically. FDA describes magnetic-field devices as contracting muscles to improve tone or firmness, with effects that may be temporary. Ask whether the proposed result is muscle tone, fat reduction or both, and request evidence for the exact device. Do not infer visceral-fat reduction from a muscle-toning claim.
Are fat-dissolving injections approved for the stomach or thighs?
Do not assume so. FDA's updated deoxycholic acid communication states that Kybella is not approved for fat outside the under-chin region and that use is not recommended. Ask for the exact product, current local status and proposed site; an unnamed cocktail is not a substitute for that information.

Can I work or exercise the next day?
Possibly, but zero downtime is not guaranteed. Cooling may leave numbness for weeks; energy treatments and injections have different skin, pain and swelling considerations. Can I use a home fat-freezing device or inject myself?

Can fat return, or will I need surgery instead?

Non-invasive devices do not remove excess skin like a tummy tuck or suction fat like liposuction. Ask whether loose skin, a hernia or another cause explains the concern and whether no treatment or a separate surgical opinion is more appropriate; neither route guarantees a particular contour.
